Biography

David Hazelwood was born and lived in Ipswich, Suffolk. Self taught artist. Hazelwood took part in many group exhibitions including Royal Academy Summer Exhibition from 1977; Bath Festival from 1983; International Art Fairs from 1985 including Basle, Chicago, Cologne and Frankfurt. Held one man show at Bedford College in 1970 and in 1993 Galerie Peerlings, Krefeld and Galerie Krakeslatt, Bromolla. David Hazelwood's work is represented in Victoria & Albert Museum, Department of the Environment, Camden Arts Centre, Atkinson Art Gallery, Southport, Beecroft Art Gallery, Southend, Birmingham City Art Gallery, Bolton Museum and Art Gallery, B.B.C., Chelmsford and Essex Museum, Clare Hall, Cambridge, Graves Art Gallery, Sheffield, Hertfordshire County Council, Manchester Education Committee, Norfolk Education Committee, Oldham Library and Museum, Portsmouth City Museum, Reinickendorf Artotec, Berlin, St.Thomas' Hospital, London,Worcester Art Gallery In 1995 a tribute show was held at Christchurch Mansion, Ipswich. Chappel Galleries held a solo exhibition of his collages in 2005.
