Biography
Leonard Squirrell was born in Ipswich, Suffolk. Studied art at Ipswich School of Art in 1908-1916 under George Robert Rushton, then at the Slade School of Fine Art in 1921 under Henry Tonks. Exhibited at the Royal Academy, RWS, RI and RSA. Squirrell won a number of medals for his etchings, a technique of which he was a master. His work is held in many public and private collections, including Victoria & Albert Museum, British Museum and Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge. (see
